Flicker Street Studio welcomes students of all levels of experience—absolute beginners to professionals. Some of our classes are tailored for beginners and some require prior experience; most welcome a range of skill levels. Our guidelines are intended to help you determine what classes are best suited to your level of experience. Each workshop has been rated with one or more skill levels. These levels indicate the technical knowledge and experience a student should have to effectively participate in the course.

We want to make sure that you have a good experience at Flicker Street Studio! Flicker Street Studio will provide reasonable accommodation for disabilities upon sufficient advance notice. We will work with you to develop a plan to accommodate your needs, provided the accommodation does not fundamentally alter the class experience or create an undue hardship for Flicker Street Studio or our instructors.
BEGINNER - Level I
Students have very limited experience or none at all. Covers the very basic techniques of the medium at a slower pace and offers a lot of individual help for all students. No prior experience in the medium is required.
BEGINNER - Level II
Students have some knowledge of art making. Reviews basic techniques and offers practice exercises to assist in gaining confidence and experience with the medium.
Students have basic knowledge of their medium. Classes will offer more challenging exercises, often with work outside of class. These sessions encourage individual expression.
INTERMEDIATE - Level III
ADVANCED - Level IV
Students have advanced skill and knowledge of painting and drawing. Students are highly motivated and self-directed, and have a minimum of three years experience in their field.
INTENSIVES
Week long programs designed for artists of varying skill levels to immerse themselves in the studio practice of their choice while working alongside established faculty.
