  • Elizabeth Alley

    Teaches - Sketchbook Drawing, Beginning Oil Painting

    Elizabeth Alley was born in Memphis, Tenn., and she has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting from the University of Memphis. In addition to being an artist, and spending over 11 years in Arts Administration, she is a Technical Writer, a retired Roller Derby girl, and she also sketches, makes lists, reads, crochets and runs.   • Nancy Cheairs

    Teaches - Figure Drawing and Painting, Watercolor, Color Theory

    Nancy Cheairs was born in Memphis, Tenn. She earned her BFA degree from The Memphis College of Art in 1980 and MFA from the University of Memphis in 2007. She has shown her paintings in galleries throughout the country and is in many private, corporate and museum collections. She founded the Flicker Street Studio in January 2010. View Nancy's website.
  • Melissa Dunn

    Melissa Dunn is a native Memphian who has exhibited paintings and drawings locally and regionally for over ten years. She has worked on two large-scale public mural projects, is a published illustrator, and has worked in the in art department on several feature films. View Melissa's website.
  • Hamlett Dobbins

    Teaches – Introduction to Abstraction, Abstract Drawing, Collaborative Drawing and Painting

    A native of Tennessee, Hamlett Dobbins spent most of his life in Memphis. He received his BFA from the University of Memphis in 1993 and went on to receive his MA and MFA from the University of Iowa in Iowa City. He has received grants from the Pollock Krasner Foundation as well as the Tennessee Arts Commission’s Individual Artists Grant. From 2001 - 2013, Dobbins worked at Rhodes College as an instructor and as the director for the Clough-Hanson Gallery where he curated shows with Thomas Nozkowski, Roe Ethridge, Jon Haddock, Radcliffe Bailey, and Nikki S Lee. In 2004 he founded a non-commercial alternative space called Material in the historic Broad Avenue neighborhood in Memphis.   • Sunny Montgomery

  • Chip Pankey

    Teaches - Photography

    Chip Pankey has been making photographs worth looking at for over 30 years. His commissioned work for the Redbirds Foundation, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Memphis Convention and Visitors Bureau have all received national awards. His personal work can be found in the permanent collections of The Amon Carter Museum, Fort Worth,Texas, the Dallas Museum of Art, Dallas,Texas,California Institute of Technology, San Luis Obispo, California, Wichita Falls Art Center, Wichita Falls, Texas.   • Veda Reed

    Teaches – Critique

    BFA Memphis College of Art, Memphis, TN

    Veda was born in Granite, Oklahoma, where dry, empty, expansive spaces exert strong influences life. She enrolled at Memphis College of Art in 1952, and Memphis became her home, but throughout her long painting career she continues to plumb images of wide-open spaces. She has been recognized with the Tennessee Governor’s Award in the Arts, as Professor Emeritus of Memphis College of Art, and with paintings in collections across the US.

  • Dana Richardson

    Dana Richardson is a mixed media artist and art educator. She works in various mediums including painting and printmaking. Richardson has a BFA and an MAT from Savannah College of Art and Design, and participated the artist residency at the Vermont Studio Center. She spent a year at the plein air painting school, Marchutz, in the south of France. She has exhibited her work along the east coast. Encaustic collage keeps coming up in her studio because several processes can live together in the same composition.

  • Kerrie Rogers

    Kerrie Rogers was born in California and currently resides in Memphis, TN. She has spent ten years designing woven fabrics and tufted carpets for home, office, automotive and hotel interiors.
  • Jill Samuels

    Teaches—Children’s Art

    MS in Elementary Education, Wheelock College, Boston, MA
    BFA and BA, The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and Tufts University

    Jill is a native Memphian who lived and taught elementary school in Brookline, MA for many years. She has worked extensively with pottery and printmaking, and is currently working as a painter in her studio. Jill has been exploring art with children for over 20 years. View Jill's website.
  • Laurel Sucsy

    Teaches - Color, Abstract Painting

    BA Bowdoin College, Brunswick, ME

    Laurel received her BA from Bowdoin College in 1998 and her MFA from Tyler School of Art in 2002. She studied painting at Temple University Rome and Brandeis University in Waltham, MA. She has exhibited her work in solo exhibitions at John Davis Gallery in Hudson, NY and Clough-Hanson Gallery in Memphis, TN and has participated in group exhibitions at Plane Space Gallery (New York), The Creative Arts Workshop (New Haven, CT) and Icon Gallery (Brunswick, ME) among others. She has attended residencies at the Vermont Studio Center, The Virginia Center for Creative Arts and The Ragdale Foundation. Lauren currently lives in Quogue, NY and Memphis, TN where she is an assistant professor of painting and drawing at Rhodes College. View Laurel's website.
