2018 Children's Classes

At Flicker Street Studio, we have small classes which ensures individual instruction.  Instructors put a lot of care and work into offering the best classes possible.  Please look over our class policies before you sign up. We are looking forward to teaching you this season!

Please let us know of any disability or special need that would have an impact on the classroom including any physical, cognitive, or emotional disabilities.  Being aware ahead of time will help us plan and prepare the studio environment to the best of our ability.

  • Drawing Class with Emma Kate Rose

    This class is open to dedicated young artists and adults.

    This class is designed to teach dedicated young artists how to draw accurately from life using the basic elements of drawing. This class will focus on contour. Learning how to describe a form with line is a stepping stone toward rendering our three-dimensional world on the flat page. The class is open to adults as well and will be a fun Saturday morning for all!

  • Art After School: Portraiture
    Instructor: Emma Kate Rose

    Tuesday Afternoons
    4:00 pm - 5:30 pm
    September 11th - 25th | 3 Sessions
    $75 | All materials included | Ages 10 - 15

    In this class, students will look at the tradition of portraiture and self portraiture. Students will learn basic proportions of the head and how to create three dimensional volume in order to render a believable face. Students will develop new skills in observational drawing and incorporate inventive strategies in approaching this timeless subject.

  • Art After School: Learning from the Masters
    Instructor: Emma Kate Rose

    October 16th - November 13th | 5 Sessions
    $125 | All materials included | Ages 8 - 12

    This class will explore several major artists and movements of the late 19th and 20th centuries. Students will create projects that are inspired by impressionism, fauvism, cubism, expressionism, and pop art. Investigating different art concepts will teach your child about art history as well as different painting and drawing techniques.
